Hi guys!
I'm back with another shot of my skin shader - EcVh0 Skin Shader for Genesis 8 female, now released!
This time it will come with two different shaders - Skin Shader Lite and Skin Shader Realistic
Skin Shader Lite is for ones who looks for fast renders with low memory and maximum realisticity, it is a improved version from the genesis 3 shaders, with additional properties included in the new version of Iray released with G8 figures
and Skin Shader Realistic is for ones who looks for maximum realisticity, using a complete new way of displaying skin details using SSS under any light conditions
Anyways, here's some previews for ya all! Hope you enjoy and feel free to ask any questions!
Due to the huge change on how the skin is constructed, (by literally ditching the diffuse map), some might find their makeup no longer works on this skin shader.
Don't worry, here is a detailed fix to get your makeup back again!
First, we need to have a look at how incompatible the makeups are! Some, are a bit harder to apply than the others, you will need to goto the place where the texture of your characters are stored, in most cases it will be (Your Content Library Location)/Runtime/Textures/VendorName (or DAZ3D)/Figure Generation (Genesis 8 Female or others)/Characters/Character Name
Now, you should see a whole list of .jpg images in the folder like texture maps, bump maps etc, great! You have located your character's texture folder! Now you just need to determine if your character is which of the following:
Hope this text only tutorial is easy to understand! If you don't get anything or couldn't get it to work, simply comment below and I will help you, whenever I'm not asleep!
Happy Rendering!

Hi Guys. Draagonstorm and myself have been slaving away to create something really cool and fun to use. Introducing Pose Builder. In a nutshell, it gives you the ability to mix and combine poses, or areas of poses from Genesis, G2F and G2M.
You can even mix areas of a female pose with that of a male or creature. You can also load up a full pose and zero out areas and add in different options from other poses. Also includes a one click Pose Mirror option and the ability to save your pose creations. Here are a few shots of the product. Will post more examples and how it works soon. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
Medieval Hall and Garden for Daz Studio (3Delight + Iray) and Carrara. Includes long gallery/undergallery, exchequer/undercroft plus garden, courtyard, mill stream and props.
Welcome to The Growing Up for Genesis 8 Support thread.
I have a new tutorial that just hit the market, I explain in complete detail the process of rigging mechs and vehicles inside of Daz Studio. With this tutorial you'll be able to rig anything you want! I go over:
Check out a YouTube trailer here: https://youtu.be/UyPvGv5EaGY

Hello, here is a small preview of a coop work, made with Td3D, who created the guitar.
It's an original design, with plenty of customization options (basically each and every guitar parts can be tweaked to your taste, dozens of material presets available, plus shader presets for parts you would like to tweak with different colors).
It comes with 16 poses, 8 for males, and 8 different for females, and most of the hands are available as partials, to make it easy to tweak/build your own poses. All left hands are hierarchicals, so the fingers will always stay posed right in place on the fretboard. And it's very easy to tweak, just move the hand (bend, twist or side-side), or the forearm/shoulder, the guitar will always follow the move.
There are plectrum smartprops too, for male and female, they work on any of the playing poses.

Here are a few of the pictures :
This is also in the works and to be released hopefully when Growing Up goes live. G8's expressions are fantastic. One problem, all those added wrinkle details don't look good on anything younger than an adult. This set aims to remedy that. You will be able to control the smoothing via a master controller and control the amount of wrinkle detail that are present on the expressions. It can also be dialed in the negative to exaggerate wrinkle details. More details to follow.
Hey guys,
I just wanted to give you a heads up of a new product coming down the pipeline soon. Here is a demonstation video of it in action;

I will also post a tutorial video in this thread once its ready.
I hope you enjoy this product.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Wow, pure eye-candy for iRay!
Now you can play with light in a new way! Make it dance; make it sparkle; add new life to your old scenes. With this dynamic lens flare and starburst set, you not only get a real 3D light set with real props (not just Photoshop brushes), but you also get full motion dynamics, meaning interact with your scene and dynamically move with the camera to simulate real lens flares.* Incredible! Plus it comes with tons of extra features and options (over 82 textures to choose from), including camera glare (light leaks), light flashes, camera streaks, chroma-hoops, light fog, and more.
And the setup is quite simple: There is one camera, and one light, and a lot of stuff in between that makes everything look pretty. As you move the camera or light source, the flares move accordingly, just like in real life.
Product has been Updated with Official Genesis 8 Male support. Existing buyers please download update. Thanks.
Ren is for your Genesis 3 & 8 Male. He is slightly shorter than the base models.
His head morphs are custom built and do not require any other morph packs to utilize and the body morphs require Genesis 3 Male Body morphs and Genesis 8 Male Body Morphs to use.
Included for both Genesis Males are 3 Brow Presets with 1 No Brow Preset for each model. There are 4 Eye Material Presets, 4 Contacts combinations, 2 Lashes with 4 Material Presets each. With the Tattoo Presets, there are 2 for the Leg, Arm, Torso and a Preset for all, for both legs, or both arms along with Base Material Presets for each body area.
With the make up options, I've chosen to make them LIE Presets to use on any Genesis 3 Male UV and Genesis 8 Male UV based character. In them there are 3 Lip Presets, and 10 Make Up Presets, and 2 Eyeliner Presets.
Anatomical Elements are included.
Hierarchical Presets for the Base Material for both- With Anatomical Elements for Genesis 3 Male, and with the Lash/Tear and Anatomical Elements for Genesis 8 Male.
Materials are Iray only.
*Note: the piercings shown are from Diesel for Elijah 7
The Void is the concept of nothingness as an alternative dimension, an abyss that is infinite and empty…or is it? This set includes a glowing doorway portal with rays, opaque liquid ground, an expansive wall, two HDRs, an invisible light disk, bloom render settings, and five shaders. Props can be loaded individually, as scene subsets, or a multi-piece prop that’s fused together for easy scaling. The doorway prop can be scaled to the size of a large room, hallway, tower, or much larger structure.
Most of the scene subsets look best using one of The Void HDR render settings. These either completely darken the scene or add a very faint horizon line. The Void Infinity Hallway scene subset is an enclosed structure with cut-outs for the ceiling, so most HDRs or environment render settings will work fine.
I'm looking forward to your questions, comments, and renders (if you feel inspired to share). Here is the ReadMe.
Two big sets great for action shots. The curved back wall gives you more camera options to frame your scenes. Fun fact, The Lost Gate morphing water prop is a volume not just a plane. Figures breaking the surface can be viewed from the side with the lower half in the water distorted by the water volume.

Hi all,
I've been trying to create a 3D model for some time now, but I just can't get it right. I'm really stuck, I don't even know what to change in theory, leave alone in the much limited practice.
So, basically the idea is a Sci-fi elevator, a device that is made to inspect unknown planets from a safe distance, behind the bulletproof glass. Basically you take the elevator as some kind of shuttle to go from your ship down to the planet surface to look at the planet. Or to go down, once you think it's safe, and explore the planet.
I attached some pictures off what I already have. What I would like is the following feedback:
1. Does this come even close to any quality work which you might (ever, with a perfect budget) consider to buy? Basically if you think it's garbage you could have assembled yourself in a couple of hours, just say so. I won't get offended. I have no idea what this level is, and I'm jumping between infiriority complex and grandness mania. (As in I'm very proud I did this small thing, but I suspect it's so much less than anything worth making.) Also, if you would consider downloading it as a freebie, that's information as well.
2. If this could get to some level, what changes would you suggest to add to this model to make it look proper and nice? Like what details would make it better? Textures, extra functions, extra parts. You name it.
3. Are the attached pictures of decent quality? Or would you say I could improve on that as well? If the last: what do you think I should improve?
Thank you so much for your help!
EDIT: Beta testers needed! Please read till the end of the thread to see the pictures of the finished product.
Ok, guys, the set is as good as finished. Since most of the stuff I changed from the previously posted pictures is minor, I'm calling it done and am calling for beta testers. The full fleshed promo's will be done after the beta test is finished, in case I missed some major problem and need to change things.
So, I'm looking for about 8-10 beta testers.
1. About 5 normal DAZStudio Iray users
2. 1-2 Users of Reality and/or Lux
3. 1-2 Users of Poser to see how the .obj import into the program and render in Poser
For the moment the set is Iray only. If you're using more than one engine - bonus points for you, means you can qualify for two spots on the list.
Rules:
1.Don't share this product anywhere with anyone, especially not online (speaks for itself ;))
2.Don't share your renders with it publically until I've submitted it to the DAZ shop and at least got a positive response. I would like to keep it contained
3.You are more than welcome to make artistic renders with it and send it to me through private messages
4.You get the product for free, so no "delete after beta test" small print. If the product gets accepted to DAZ I'll try to make sure it will appear in your Product library as a gift.
5.I reserve the right to deny to beta test requests (in case the spots are full or I have enough testers for your render engine of choice)
If you're interested send me a PM with the mention of your engine choice either through forums or on DeviantArt (link in the sig).
Current state:
Iray slots: full
Lux/Reality slots: full
Poser slots: 1 free
EDIT #2: The product is in the store now! See here: https://www.daz3d.com/futuristic-glass-elevator-and-building-kit
Word Tattoo allows you to quickly create custom Word Tattoos for your Genesis 3 Female and Genesis 8 Female characters! For Finger Tattoos (or fingernails or toes), Word Tattoo automatically aligns the text so that each character is placed on a separate finger in the correct location and orientation.
Word Tattoo does not support wrapping your tattoos around the textures so you must avoid the edges of the materials in order to see the complete word tattoo.

“Whether it’s with words or images, I love to tell stories. I’ve been a storyteller as far back as I can remember — well before I made journalism my first career.
I studied journalism at Ryerson University (long before it was known as a university) and spent a number of years as an investigative journalist and news photographer. With the emergence of the web in the 1990s, I worked as a web designer, e-commerce developer, and IT project manager. In the early 2000s, I was a professional futurist doing technology forecasting and working as a technology strategist. I also began teaching college classes in strategic management, managing technology and innovation, project management, business communications, systems thinking, and other courses.
Through all of these jobs writing and visual communication remained a core part of the work I did.
I have a B.A. in Journalism from Ryerson University, an M.S. in Studies of the Future from the University of Houston-Clear Lake, and an M.S. in Information Design & Technology from SUNY IT (State University of New York Institute of
“It all starts with my deep and abiding love of comics and comic book art. It’s an obsession that started in childhood with an uncle’s 100 volume collection of Classic Illustrated comic books.
I was raised by a muralist father and can remember painting large backdrop sets, landscapes and scenes for an amazing number of years. Of all the subjects we painted I found and still find, humans and the human figure to be the most fascinating.
These loves (the human figure and comic book styles) eventually led me to 3D art, a natural extension of this interest. I started with Poser and when Daz Studio was released that became my software of choice. As I browse through my runtime, I realize I’ve been producing art using 3D models since 2003, and I see a copy of Photoshop 6 sitting here on my shelf as well. Apparently I’ve been at this a while, and yet 3D art is still in it’s infancy as an artform. It is so very exciting to see where it goes as it evolves.
I’ve sold art at Comicons, been commissioned for paintings, worked on book illustrations, and have a website for book covers. It’s awesome and so much fun! I love learning. I love art. I love the 3D art style. Together I find them to be an incredible amount of fun, there’s not much I like doing more than meeting other artists, and exchanging ideas, tips, and tricks. It is definitely my idea of a good time!”
