[Released] Sharks by AM: Great White [Commercial]

Finally released! Meet the Great White shark, the ocean's most feared predator, finely reproduced with detailed geometry, high-resolution textures and a full set of morphs and poses.
The texture set includes heavily scarred skin patterns, that really add to the overall realism of this creature. The morph collection allows to change several key aspects of the body, like the dorsal fin shape and size, make the teeth asymmetric, even hide some teeth, remove claspers, open/close gills to simulate shark respiration cycle and lot more.
As a huge plus, a seal carcass, 3 bubble particles props, a huge, detailed water splash and an awesome underwater CG HDRI based scene are provided to give the shark the habitat it deserves!
The bubble props and water splash can be easily combined to form more complex shapes and as such can be useful in several projects! Optimized for Iray.

Astronaut for Genesis 3 Male and Michael 7 [Commercial]

“Astronaut for Genesis 3 Male and Michael 7” is the long-awaited Astronaut suit from Midnight_stories. It an authentic Astronaut recreation based on the moon landing. It comes in a ten piece set. Both in Iray and 3Delight material sets. It has 2 main sub-set item for easy loading, these have specific limits and morphs applied to them, Plus a pose control group dedicated to controlling the suit, which make it even easier to work with. There’s a morph for expanding the suit, to get a more authentic look, Backpack is connected to the suit with tubes and can be posed without distortion. There’s Michael 7 shape support and various adjustment dials. The material come with Emission shaders for the light and I have included several color for the light inside the helmet. There 10 Hierarchical Poses plus a Zero pose to reset. The tubes do have adjustments to help with posing. It has highly detailed textures and wrinkle all in 4K. This is a must for all you space fans and be on the lookout for the “Moon 360” pack.

OK some notes:

Before you ask I’ll try and answer some question.

How's it work:


The easiest way I could think of was creating sub set, this allows me to put limit on the G3M figure so he doesn’t collide with other parts of the suit E.g. collars going into the helmet or chest bend tearing the backpack tubes apart. Also, it allows me to control multiple morphs in the one place, E.g. Suit expand will drive suit gloves boots cover packs all at once, so you don’t have to do it individually on each piece of clothing. See video for details.

What figure and shape support are there?

Basically Genesis 3 Male and Michael 7. Why only those well that’s all, I had time for it took 6 weeks to get it this far. The main problem are the tubes running from the suit to the backpack, they shear off when applying morphs and bends. I’m not saying all body types will do it, so of the standard morphs work fine E.g. Height. With just the suit on and not worrying about helmets covers and pack most will work fine. So just be aware of the backpack. Genesis 3 Female no I’m not doing to as I would have to rig from scratch. Genesis 8 Male I have a basic fit but I will see how many the Genesis 3 Male sells before I commit.

Why has it taken so long.

As some of you know me I do things pretty quick, so 6 weeks is a huge amount of time to do this. The main reason is developing strategies to get this to work at 4 weeks into this I still didn’t know if this would work or get pass QA. I bounce ideas of the DAZ Riggers and see if they work or if they have better ideas, the multiple weight mapping system came from those guys, no one knew if it was going to work but it did. Then making a central control for all morph was another one, tubes running from the suit to the backpack took the longest plus adding bones to move the tubes in and out. Researching and Astronaut suit was a lot of effort, now I know how they really work and it’s a marvel of engineering. So, it all adds up.  

Closing notes and tips:

I know some will be disappointed that there can’t a lot of shape support, but I only have so many hours in a day,

Hint: just apply head morphs and character materials and do a clear autogen morphs for Edit/Figures drop down then maybe use height morph to get different variations.

Is it authentic?

No it wasn’t practical to do certain things and they couldn’t be rigged, I did use a lot for reference from nasa photo’s and the movie Gravity was a great inspiration. I didn’t put logo’s on because of copyrights.

Is the rig perfect?

No, nothing is perfect, I had to strike a balance between usability and mobility. E.g. Astronaut helmet don’t bend or twist the head moves inside them and arms and legs have restricted movement, so keep that in mind when posing.

Will I be doing this again ?

No! We choose to go to moon because it’s hard, I choose it because it’s interesting and challenges me. This project stretched me to the limit of what I can do.

Iridescent Shaders for Iray [Commercial]

And my first product is unleashed upon the store!

There are two different shaders that add color based on angle of the surface to the camera. The first shader is fairly simple, useful for velvet and satin. It can take two different image maps to create intricate effects. The second has 5 different arcs of color, allowing a more precise and varied range of tints.

Note that these shaders add to the base color; if the result is too dark, you may need to lighten either the iridescent or base color.

Experiment with metallicity and refraction. Iridescent creates intense effects with both.

There are bump patterns in many of the presets. Control how fine or coarse the pattern is by right clicking on the bump map and selecting Image Editor, adjusting the tiling pattern.

I am really excited to announce my favorite set of scripts!  I use these scripts EVERY SINGLE TIME I create an image.  I hope you will love these scripts as much as I do.

Look At Me Pose Control is a set of scripts for controlling your characters' head and eye movements for posing! Easily pose your figures to look at the camera, to look into other character's eyes, or to look at an item in your scene! Look At Me Pose Control has been designed to work with almost any character or figure... from Victoria 4 to Genesis 8, from Horse to Dragon, male or female. Anything with head and eyes!

Control separately how much characters' head and eyes move to look at your target, whether it's to look into the camera, at an item, or at each other!

Brow Remover (Commercial)

I always wanted something to remove eyebrows on skins so I could apply my own or use fibremesh or LIE or other 3rd party brows without having to edit maps in Photoshop to remove them everytime on ones I don't like. So..... Draagonstorm and myself decided to create this. Think of it as an automated heal or stamp tool in Photoshop for Studio. It works on V4, M4, K4, G1, G2F & G2M, G3F & G3M, and on all supported UV maps. We hope to have it wrapped up by PA Sale in September.

 

 

 

Released; LIE Tattoo Overlays for Genesis 3 Male (Commercial)

This is a small package that uses the LIE System to add Tattoo Overlays (Diffuse, Translucency and Bump overlays) to your Genesis 3 Male figures.  The majority of the selection are from various character sets of mine, and there are a couple of new and not used elsewhere added in.

While tested on the Genesis 3 Male UV sets, the promos do show that the can be used on Daz Character sets such as Michael, Dash, Gianni and Lee-be aware that if used on other UV sets other than the Base G3M UV, there are a few tattoos that may have seam issues. 

Included are 6 Presets each for the Arms, Legs and Torso.

His head morphs are a combination of custom morphing and blended with Lucas 8 facial features.  The body morphs require Genesis 8 Body Morph pack along with the Lucas 8 base model. He can be used without Lucas 8, but he will not look the same.
His skin base is a mixture of 2 sets of skin photo resources as well as various merchant resources.
Giuseppe's textures come with 5 eye colors, 2 Sclera and Lash materials.  He has a chest tattoo, two arm tattoos and a calf tattoo with an option for them all to be used.  There are three brow options as well as a no brow option.
I have included 3 Skin Gloss Presets: Base, High, and Low Gloss (For the Base Model and the Anatomical Element Geograft to match).
Anatomical Elements are included; Circumcised and uncircumcised.  Hierarchical Presets with the Lash/Tear and Anatomical Elements for Genesis 8 Male.
Materials are Iray only.

Rim Light Rig Iray is a combination prop and multiple light set for figures, environments, and props. The dramatic effect is a halo outline and silhouette, that separates your main subject from the background adding dimension to your renders. The colorful spotlights and invisible light planes are parented to a non-rendering rig for easy positioning and scaling to fit your main subject. Easier Pose Creation for Genesis 8 Male and Darius 8 (Commercial)

Hello! A new Easier Pose Creation set has been released!

Create your own poses in seconds, choose one upper and one lower body pose and done. This set has a total of 300 pose presents, divided into full body poses, upper body poses and lower body poses for Genesis 8 Male and Darius 8.

When you load a partial upper pose, you are NOT going to lose the lower pose or expression previously loaded, and vice versa, if you load a partial lower pose, you are NOT going to lose the upper pose. This lets you save time adjusting just small details depending of the combination used, additionally gives you the chance to try different possibilities to quickly get a new pose, without wasting time to adjust your character to the floor or begin a pose from zero.

*All the Pose presents can be used in Michael 8 or any character that uses the Genesis 8 Male base, just very small details will be needed depending of the pose used and the shape of the character.

The Dinosaur Queen Outfit

IBL Master - Image Based Lighting control for both renderers & a new IBL for 3Delight

Hi Everyone. Today is a day a day of victory, and I'm so excited be able to share this news with you! IBL Master has just made it through QC to Final Review! I think it will be a real game changer for Image Based Light in Daz Studio. I have so much to tell and explain, but I know not everyone has time to read a dissertation. So for those of you in a hurry, I have the bullet point features below and I also recommend you look at the pics.

What is IBL Master?

IBL Master is a lighting control that loads as a figure in the viewport and hooks directly up to the Iray Environment Dome in Render Settings, making it easy for you to preview your HDRI in the 3D viewport in realtime (as a sphere) and orient the Iray Dome in scene just as you would any object. It also serves up a new breakthrough IBL shader for 3delight that makes renders not only more realistic but faster than ever before. Building from there, IBL Master debuts bidirectional links between the Iray Dome, the control in the viewport, the new 3delight IBL, and a new HDRI background sphere for the 3delight side. This means that you can change HDRIs and transforms in one place and they all stay synchronized.

Every part of this product was designed with synchronization in mind. This means that for the first time, you can pick and choose what you like about both render engines and composite them together without having to fudge the lighting.

Now all that might sound complicated, but for the user it's not. It's dead easy to use! If you know how to load a product, apply a preset, and rotate an object, then you already know how to get great lighting with IBL Master. If you are new to any of that, I've provided step by step instructions. Oh, and when I say preset, I mean that any presets you have that load an HDRI onto the Iray Environment Dome now instantly work for 3delight because of bidirectional remote control. So IBL Master doubles the value of those products as well. And if you open a scene that has an HDRI assigned in Iray, IBL Master will pick that up when it loads.

With IBL Master, Image Based Lighting is now seamless between Iray and 3delight because light angle, light quality, and background orientation are now consistent across both engines. The IBLM Light is the very first to properly convert coordinate space differences between 3Delight and Daz Studio. And unlike Uber Environment 2, this light is a full fledged IBL with specular as well as diffuse, ray traced reflections, and ray traced shadows. So you don't need to add other lights that might diminish the realism of your lighting.

That said, there are times when you mays still wish to add more lights, so take a look at the next feature.

Ever wanted to adjust the brightness of your subject separately from the HDRI background? I've addressed that issue as well. The IBL Master Control has six ghost lights rigged to targets on the preview sphere, making it easy for you to match up lighting angles to hotspots (like the sun or other lights) on your HDRI. I call these Boost Lights because you can use them to boost the light on your subject, and no one will ever know that you had another light in the scene. Additionally, on the 3Delight side, you can adjust the brightness of the background in Surface settings or turn off image syncing and use a different HDRI for the light and background.

To further match function between Iray and 3Delight, IBL Master also has a ground plane for 3Delight with a shadow catcher - the first ever on the 3Delight side to catch ray traced shadows from the IBL.

As if that were not enough, with IBL Master rendering with Image Based Light in 3Delight is significantly faster than ever before. For the better part of a decade the popular opinion has been that 3Delight slows to a crawl when IBL and transmaps share the same scene. But as it turns out, it's a glitch in our surface shaders, not the render engine. The IBLM Light shader bypasses this glitch. So, if you have been wanting to get more realism and speed, but have not been ready to shell out thousands for a high end Nvidea system, this product may be the next best thing. Take a look at the comparison renders I've done and see what you think.

Food for thought: Although there are differences between Physically Based and Biased render engines, fundamentally there are 3 components that commonly contribute to realism. These are linear workflow (gamma correction), global illumination and physically based surfaces, all of which are present by default in Iray but also already features in 3delight as well. We just haven't had full access to some of what 3Delight can do in Daz Studio. But that is changing! So:

1). Iray has gamma correction on by default, so you just need to turn it on for 3delight (Render Settings tab > Gamma > Gamma Correction > On and set Gamma to 2.20).
2). Get IBL Master and you now have global illumination via IBL that equals that of Iray.
3). Cross your fingers about physically based surfaces. I know what I'll be working on next if all goes well. But as my renders demonstrate, number one + number two will get you darn good results!

This hot metal shader set brings a dramatic radiance to your props, vehicles, weapons, figures, and landscapes while providing functional lighting for your interior and exterior scenes. These shaders are built from photos of real metal (copper, aluminum, brass, bronze, chrome, gold, iron, and steel) and can easily be rotated to match the UV’s of your object or figure.

Included are eight cold metal shaders, five that glow red hot straight from the forge, and three anodized that radiate a spectrum of high-temperature color. To expand the usage and provide more options, there are 24 utility shaders that can be applied to any of the base shaders or other surfaces. You can retain the default texture maps of your characters and props, as 20 of the adjustment shaders only affect emissive channels.

Moon 360(Commercial)

Moon 360 is the new HDR environment by Midnight_stories. It’s a full 360 Degree set of HDRs, rendered in 16K by 8K so it’s double the resolution of the “Mars 360” set. With full 3D lighting information encoded into each image. There are 9 environments in all broken up into 2 categories, Infinite Sphere and Infinite Sphere with ground and DOF or (depth of field). The landscapes are based on a moon environment with stone rocks and dust features, plus star and planet backgrounds, all lit with a sun as the central source of lighting and shadows. There are 7 on the surface of the moon and 2 in orbit. These work great with the “Genesis 3 Male Astronaut”. There is also so a camera preset of the DOF environment and an introductory video to help get you started, see link below. The 16K maps takes HDR environments to a whole new level of detail!

This has just passed QA so “Genesis 3 Male Astronaut” shouldn't be to far away!

So I've created Precious! A darling little creature that expands with each additional character to give you a whole host of toys to build from.

Starting from the Precious Little Deer, she offers a full range of expressions from a fully rigged face.
